Thermomaster® External Thermal Insulation System
Exterior thermal insulation is the best investment for the energy upgrade of a house. That is why we provide the Thermomaster® system that ensures comfortable living conditions, protection from weather conditions, design freedom and unlimited application possibilities. With harmoniously combined high quality materials for perfection of construction and guaranteed functionality in the future. All the materials that make up the system are CE marked and the production units are ISO & TUV certified. Thermal facade / external thermal insulation is a great investment on buildings that upgrades them energetically and is depreciated within 5-7 years. With 4 production units in 3 European countries, subsidiaries in 13 countries and over 700 employees, Masterplast® has become an important factor for external thermal insulation system.
The thermal insulation material that is mainly preferred with the Thermomaster® Exterior Thermal Insulation System is Graphite EPS polystyrene. The thickness of the polystyrene depends on the climatic zone of the area in question but is recommended to be exceeded by at least 200%.
- Isomaster G expanded Graphite EPS polystyrene boards are stick to the substrate with Thermomaster Fix Premium adhesives and additionally fixed with plastic thermal facade supports of similar length
- Then the backbone of the system is created on them, what is known as the base layer
- The base layer is essentially the same material as the bonding but reinforced with a strong anti-alkaline glass mesh of 160 gr/m² Masternet Classic 160. The glass mesh gives the system the required resistance to cracking and impact. Optionally, another coat of adhesive can be applied to achieve a good coating thickness and smooth out any imperfections from the base coat.
- After the base coat is finished, the surface is primed with Thermomaster Universal Primer to adjust its absorbency and further strengthen the facade of the final plaster layer.
- The plasters used are ready-to-use, organic, flexible and thin and there is a choice between acrylic (Thermomaster Acrylic Plaster) and silicone (Thermomaster Silicone Plaster) plasters with the latter being superior in vapor permeability and tightness.
- These are pasty plastics, organic that are the two main options for the final finish of an external insulation/thermal facade.
Their main differences are:
- Τranspiration/Vapor permeability.
- In terms of waterproofing, silicones are considered superior.
- Silicone plasters are 15-20% more expensive than acrylics.
- In terms of elasticity and resistance to cracking, acrylic plasters are better.
- Silicones are better in this respect. That is why it is advantageous to combine them with Rockwool as a thermal insulation material.
- Resistance to mold, lichens and other biological agents: Silicone plasters have better behavior while acrylic plasters are absolutely sufficien.
